What is the 1008?

Form 1008 is the Fannie Mae (Federal National Mortgage Association) designation for the Transmittal Summary used when a mortgage loan package is submitted to a lender, servicing party or investor.

The transmittal summary reviews the main terms and elements of the mortgage loan application. It provides a handy tool for a quick scan of the requested loan. It is usually only used for residential properties.
